Deputy Minister for Education U Nay Myo Hlaing met with instructors and trainees of the Education Administration Course No. (8/2026) at the Education Management Training School (Yangon) this morning at the school’s Pyinnyar Yadanar Hall.
The meeting was attended by the Director Generals from the departments under the Ministry of Education, Director of Education (Yangon Region), the principal and instructors of the training school, trainees, and the authorities concerned.
In his remarks, the Deputy Minister emphasized that administrative officers play an essential role in the effective implementation of education policies and programmes, as they serve as the link with the grassroots level. He urged the trainees to diligently study the subjects taught during the training, including administration, finance, education management, policy, planning, computer studies, and ICT, as well as the policies of the Ministry of Education, and to apply the knowledge gained in their respective workplace. The Deputy Minister also noted that arrangements are underway to upgrade certain Education Degree Colleges to university level. This initiative will provide opportunities for qualified teachers from basic education schools to pursue higher education, enabling them to obtain bachelor’s and master’s degrees, while also enhancing prospects for promotion, salary advancement, and opportunities for professional development. He stressed the importance of nurturing highly qualified teachers. Furthermore, he highlighted that plans are being made to introduce basic knowledge related to industry, agriculture, and livestock breeding at the middle school level of basic education starting from the coming academic year. Such efforts, he noted, will contribute to the development of the human resources required for the nation.
Following the address, attendees raised questions on matters of interest. Director General of the Department of Alternative Education, U Thant Zin Tun, Director General of the Myanmar Examinations Department, Dr. Thet Lwin, and Director General of the Department of Research, Planning and Training, Dr. Khin Thi Tar clarified matters related to the education programmes to be undertaken by their respective departments, while the Deputy Minister provided additional guidance and coordination.
The Deputy Minister then presented financial grants to trainees of Course No. (8/2026), which were received by two representatives on behalf of the trainees. He subsequently greeted the trainees and toured the training school to inspect facilities and provide necessary instructions. The Deputy Minister later had lunch together with the trainees.
The Education Administration Course No. (8/2026) is being conducted over a three-month period and is attended by 194 staff officer trainees from various regions and states.
Following the meeting, the Deputy Minister visited No. (9) Basic Education High School and No. (1) Basic Education High School in Mingaladon Township, where he observed students attending classes peacefully. During the visit, he instructed teachers to nurture students so that they will improve morale, raise patriotic spirit, and learn to dress properly, while also coordinating the provision of necessary support.
